GIPPSLAND ROTARY CENTENARY HOUSE - MANAGEMENT

Management

The Centenary House project is managed by a voluntary Committee of Management. It consists of representatives from Rotary, the Gippsland community and businesses and user groups. This is 'a project by the community, for the community' and has generated enormous community goodwill throughout the accommodation centre's catchment area.

This Committee of Management is supported by the following sub-committees:

  • Fundraising (which has groups dedicated to corporate presentations, charity trust applications, special events and donations in kind)
  • Building
  • Promotion and Community Relations
  • Administrative Support
  • Project Management and Construction, and
  • Operations (post construction)

The committee has made a 'seamless' transition from the building implementation phase to the operation phase.

Ongoing Operation

The operation of the Gippsland Rotary Centenary House will maximise the use of volunteers and will be modelled on the operation of the Ronald McDonald House at Clayton.

The facility is operated by a full-time paid manager, supported by a team of volunteers, who will provide out of hours security and access, cleaning, some cooking and laundry services.

The committee has had preliminary discussion with palliative care service providers to ensure the patients and families have ready access to these services.

The Committee of Management has established appropriate policies and procedures to ensure all statutory and legal obligations are met for the delivery of the highest standard of service.
